Two Years in Pictures

After 100 editions, University World News has covered every angle of academic life. Along the way, one of our challenges has been to find images that illustrate those stories.





Australia's terrible bushfires were reported around the world by a wide range of media earlier this year. UWN covered the disaster's impact on Australia's academic community, together with this image.





We reported on plans for life-long learning in Central Asia in May, using this image taken by our correspondent Nick Holdsworth during a visit to Kyrgyzstan to illustrate the story.





Greek researchers took academic research to great heights and experienced weightlessness in the process, our correspondent reported earlier this year.





This intriguing photo from the University of Adelaide illustrated a story in our Science Scene section on research into salt-resistant plants.





This NASA photo of the surface of the sun topped the homepage of our 31st edition. It illustrated the energy sought by an international project featured in our Business section.
