Universities strengthen collaboration on economic research

The University of Indonesia and the Pacific National University of Russia have agreed to strengthen research collaboration with a focus on the economy. This collaboration includes areas such as medical technology, robotics and mineral resources, writes Olivia Subandi for Tempo.

In a panel discussion titled “Utilising Scientific and Educational Partnerships to Expand Business between Russia and Indonesia” held at the Raffles Hotel in Jakarta on Monday 14 April, academic leaders from both countries outlined an ambitious vision for closer collaboration in research and innovation based on industry.

The leaders agreed that establishing joint laboratories, combined scientific teams and joint ventures could be strategic steps to implement new technologies in both countries. This also supports the development of student startups that have the potential to produce competitive innovations on the global stage.
