Spanish universities see rise in Moroccan student numbers

Spanish universities have seen a rise in Moroccan students, according to newly released numbers from a government study, writes Adil Faouzi for Morocco World News.

The number of international students enrolled in Spanish universities has reached 180,563 in the 2022-23 academic year, marking a 6.1% increase from the previous year, according to recent statistics released by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Moroccan students represent a significant portion of this growth, with 7,263 students from Morocco enrolled through regular admission processes. An additional 3,981 Moroccan residents in Spain are pursuing higher education, bringing the total to 11,244 Moroccan students in Spanish universities.
