Ministry to increase university scholarship rate to 86%

Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation is set to increase the acceptance rate for university scholarships, raising it from 82% to 86% this year, writes Mahamadou Simpara for Morocco World News.

Minister Azzedine El Midaoui made the announcement on Monday 11 November in the House of Representatives, explaining that this increase is part of a broader initiative to expand access to higher education for deserving students across the country.

Addressing a parliamentary question on the topic, El Midaoui highlighted that the ministry is actively seeking new funding sources to support a growing number of scholarship applicants. Efforts to diversify funding are being conducted in partnership with stakeholders in the educational and financial sectors to ensure a steady stream of resources for student aid.
