Jordan promotes its educational tourism potential to Brits
The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), in cooperation with the Jordanian Embassy in London, hosted a delegation of students and alumni from British prestigious universities, including Oxford, King's College London and the London School of Economics, reports The Jordan Times.The visit, which took place between 18 and 25 August, was part of the UK-Middle East and North Africa networking initiative and aimed at promoting Jordan as a top educational tourism destination for British university students, according to a JTB statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
During their tour, the delegation met with several prominent figures including HRH Prince Hassan, chairman of the Higher Council for Science and Technology, Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Senator Mohamed Momani, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry Majed Qatarneh, and Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, JTB Director General.
Discussions focused on the economic impact of the tourism sector in Jordan, with particular emphasis on the value of educational tourism for British students, notably opportunities to study Arabic and explore archaeological sites.
