Cuban universities seek to strengthen ties with France

A delegation of universities attached to Cuba’s Ministry of Higher Education this week started a broad programme of activities to consolidate cooperation with French institutions and identify new opportunities, reports Prensa Latina.

Strengthening academic and scientific ties on both sides of the Atlantic is the priority of the group made up of 28 directors of Cuban higher education institutions, headed by the director of international relations at the Ministry of Higher Education, María Victoria Villavicencio.

“Our participation here responds to a project sponsored by the Solidarity Fund for Innovative Projects, aimed at strengthening the internationalisation strategy of Cuban universities,” Villavicencio told Prensa Latina. According to the director, the objective of promoting greater international presence and visibility of Cuban universities in an increasingly globalised world is joined by that of identifying opportunities for collaboration with the main institutions of higher education and science in France.
