Universities seek better security after Prague shooting
Following the mass shooting at Prague’s Charles University in December, Slovak universities are looking for ways to increase security, reports The Slovak Spectator.Fourteen people were shot dead at the faculty of arts building of Charles University in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, by a student who then killed himself on 21 December 2023, according to the BBC.
Comenius University in Bratislava in neighbouring Slovakia is holding meetings with security experts in order to explore ways to improve safety. New checks have already been introduced at the entrances to its building, with more to come in the future. The Slovak University of Technology is planning an audit of existing security measures and procedures in its buildings and workplaces.
