President asks universities to produce more graduates
President Dr Arif Alvi has called on the Pakistani universities to produce more graduates, saying that by the year 2030, 80 million graduates will be needed, reports The News International.“Sixty-four per cent of our population is under the age of thirty. The world is changing. People who are educated today are among those who will mark their presence in the world,” he said while addressing the convocation of Iqra University in Karachi on Monday 24 January.
“Knowledge is not necessary being imparted in the classrooms but is now available in the cloud for all professions,” the president said, citing the growth of artificial intelligence and cloud computing as a factor that can significantly boost the number of graduates.
