Calls for closure of universities lacking accreditation

The head of South Sudan’s Economic Cluster Sub-Committee on non-oil revenues and Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Onyoti Adigo has urged the country’s minister of higher education science and technology to shut down the branches of Christian and Kampala universities in South Sudan to avoid awarding credentials that will not be recognised by the country, reports Sudans Post.

Adigo stressed that the continued operation of the institutions in the country without accreditation was unbecoming and urged the ministry of education to seek police help to make sure that the two institutions do not continue to operate.

The Kampala University in South Sudan was established in 2015. Its main base is Kampala, Uganda. The Christian University was established in 2010 and its main campus is in Gudele.
