13 universities, tertiary institutions cleared to lecture online
After inspections and revisiting of programmes, Uganda’s National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has cleared 13 universities and tertiary institution to start online teaching, write Conan Businge and Martin Kitubi for New Vision.NCHE Executive Director Professor Mary Okwakol said more universities are on the way to being cleared. “We hope more universities will come on board since many others have applied for clearance,” she said.
The universities and tertiary institutions that have been cleared are Victoria University, International University of East Africa, Cavendish University, ISBAT University, Uganda Martyrs University, Metropolitan International University, Ernest Cook Ultrasound Research and Education Institute and the Law Development Centre. Others are Uganda Christian University, African Renewal University, Lira University and Aptech.
