Universities dormitories to be used as quarantine centres
Dormitories of universities and colleges in Tashkent and the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan will be used as quarantine centres in accordance with the decision of the nation-wide commission for the fight against coronavirus, reports AKIpress.The administrations of Tashkent and Tashkent region will make a list of educational institutions that have the necessary infrastructure and may be repurposed as quarantine centres. People staying in the quarantine centre Urtasaray in Yukorichirchik district of Tashkent region will be discharged from the centre and sent into home quarantine and quarantine centres in the university and college dormitories. The expenditure will be covered from the Anti-Crisis Fund.
Uzbekistan will reinstate quarantine restrictions from 10 July to 1 August. Workers of organisations will switch to remote work; and weddings and mass events will be prohibited. Consumer goods markets, public catering facilities, gyms, spas and kindergartens will be closed.
