Public universities in Ho Chi Minh City to hike tuition fees
A number of public universities in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam that have been granted financial autonomy are planning to increase tuition fees in the 2020-21 academic year, reports Viet Nam News.Tuition fees at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, for instance, will increase to VND30 million-VND70 million (US$1,290-US$3,010) in the 2020-21 academic year for various majors. The current fee is VND13 million (US$559) per year.
Tuition for the dental and maxillofacial major at the Ho Ci Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will be the highest with VND70 million (US$3,010) per year, followed by the medical major with VND68 million (US$2,930). The majors in nutrition and public health will be the lowest, at VND30 million (US$1,290) each. The university will increase tuition fees by 10% per year for the following years.
