Belarus eager to sign World Bank deal to modernise HE

Belarus intends signing an agreement with the World Bank to the tune of €65 million (US$72 million) on modernising the higher education system, reports the Belarusian Telegraph Agency.

This was announced after a Belarusian delegation led by Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi met with World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller in Washington, United States, to discuss the development of new infrastructure projects for 2020.

The higher education system modernisation project is designed to improve conditions for teaching, to modernise infrastructure at educational institutions and to make new advanced methods and innovative technologies part of the learning process.
