Buhari tasks universities to intensify inventions

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged universities to intensify their efforts in making discoveries and inventions that can assist in the development of Nigeria, reports The Nation.

“Research, critical thinking, moral dispositions, discoveries and inventions should find natural habitats in our universities, as they do in several other universities in the world,” he said in at the fourth convocation of the Federal University, Dutsinma in Katsina State.

“Universities are supposed to be strong drivers of the country’s development initiatives for sustainable development,” he said. Buhari said his administration would continue to improve structures and facilities in the institutions and enhance learning by training through various interventions like TETFund (the Tertiary Education Trust Fund).
