Foundation stone set for new German university
Representatives of the Egyptian and German governments last Sunday laid the foundation stone of a German university in the New Administrative Capital, which is intended to be home to six international universities from around the world, writes Walaa Ali for Egypt Today.Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr and German Economic Affairs and Energy Federal Minister Peter Altmaier were among the delegation. During the ceremony, Ghaffar stressed Egypt’s keenness to achieve comprehensive development in various fields, especially in the higher education and scientific research field.
The agreement to establish the German International University of Applied Sciences was signed with the largest and oldest 10 German universities of applied sciences during Ghaffar's visit to Germany in October 2018. In November 2017, Ghaffar said that the New Administrative Capital will include six international universities from the United States, Britain, Hungary, Canada, Sweden and France.
