Council sets deadline for unified tertiary system
The Council of Common Interests in Pakistan has directed the Higher Education Commission to finalise its recommendations in coordination with the federal and provincial governments within a month for a uniform higher education system across the country, reports Pakistan Today.Presided over by the Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Council of Common Interests meeting also directed the commission to formulate a strategy for the upliftment of educational institutions.
The prime minister, in his remarks on the occasion, stressed the need for improvement of educational standards in Balochistan and directed the Higher Education Commission to take measures in coordination with the provincial government. He told the meeting that the services of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre would be extended to Balochistan for the provision of healthcare facilities, particularly, the diagnosis of cancer.
