ASIA: Regional universities agree on network deal

Eleven universities in Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam signed an agreement last week during a University Presidents' Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to develop a collaborative network in the region, reports Viet Nam News.

Dr Huynh Thanh Dat, deputy rector of Viet Nam National University of Ho Chi Minh City, said the network was composed of three universities in Cambodia, four in Laos and four in Viet Nam.

After the network is operational, an exchange of students and lecturers will occur, according to speakers. The network is expected to help develop high-quality human resources for the three countries, and promote further scientific research.
