The question for European universities is no longer whether to but how best to use generative AI responsibly in their teaching and learning, research and operations. The 2025 European University Association AI Conference highlighted select practices, and the importance of AI training, policies and guidance.

But they also expressed caution, warning that generative AI is not a panacea for all challenges.
