HE fund says it’s aiming to attract international students

Nigeria’s Tertiary Education Trust Fund said this week it was improving facilities in the nation’s universities, polytechnics and colleges of education to attract international students, reports Vanguard.

Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Sonny Echono disclosed this while receiving an international education team from the United Kingdom government in Abuja. He vowed that priority would be given to UK institutions to foster linkages and partnerships.

Echono stated that the collaboration with UK institutions would focus on skills development for Nigerian institutions, adding that the fund was currently ranking its 253 beneficiary institutions using parameters such as how many multidisciplinary research projects they had been able to undertake, degree of internationalisation, among others.
