University of Ghana launches internship policy for students

The University of Ghana has launched an internship policy for students. The policy will enable them to apply for internship opportunities with organisations and institutions while studying, reports Ghana News Agency.

The policy seeks to prepare students for the world of work as they learn on the job through their internships. Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, vice-chancellor of the University of Ghana, said the policy aimed to enhance students’ employability skills and afford them opportunity for continuous learning. She said that would enable them to align their career goals alongside their studies.

Amfo said the policy would structure students’ internship by ensuring proper documentation of records, an effective monitoring and evaluation system, and enhanced collaboration with industry.
