Universities to play key role in helping flood victims
Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman said that it will take a lot of time to come out of the social, economic and psychological effects caused by flash floods, saying a mechanism will be evolved in universities to help the flood-affected people recover from the trauma, reports Pakistan Today.Governor Rehman was talking with Dr Amjad Saqib, founder and chairman of the Akhuwat Foundation, Kamran Shams, Salim Ranjha, Rana Tariq, Dr Rizwan and Mian Shahid Iqbal from Bahawalpur Economic Development Forum who called on the governor at Governor House on Sunday 13 November. During the meeting, rehabilitation of the flood victims, construction of houses and especially how to get the flood victims out of trauma were discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor urged the students of the universities to play a role in bringing the flood victims out of the psychological effects. He said that everyone has to play his role till the complete rehabilitation of the flood victims.
