Students may return to universities in first week of June
Albania’s Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Besa Shahini, said on Tuesday 5 May that students could return to universities in the first week of June to attend lectures on certain subjects that cannot be taught online, reports the Albanian Telegraphic Agency. The minister noted in a TV interview that private universities could have succeeded in better organising the online schooling due to the smaller number of their students and they are some steps ahead of the public universities.
“What we have decided following discussions with experts and based on the proposal forwarded by the rectors is issuing a directive for the universities to complete the academic year. We asked rectors to propose their plans on the potential return of the graduating students in all study programmes, who may need to repeat important subjects and attend laboratory-based learning sessions, and plans for the graduating students to sit their exams in July,” Shahini said.
