Universities to open new faculties
New faculties will be opened at universities during the 2018-19 academic year, according to the Ministry of Education and Training’s new catalogue on training programmes in higher education, reports Viet Nam News. Most of the new faculties will be in the social fields.In the IT field, cyber-safety will be taught first at eight universities, including Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Military Technical Academy, Academy of Cryptography Techniques, and Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the country in the 2017-18 academic year has 235 universities and institutes, not including those in national defence and security. By 2020, it is expected that nearly 2.2 million students will attend university and college. In 2017-18, enrolment was 1.7 million.
