Business and education unite for knowledge economy
The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding to work jointly towards creating a knowledge economy, reports PT.Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, or ICCI, President Shaban Khalid and Higher Education Commission, or HEC, Executive Director Professor Mansoor Akbar Kundi signed the understanding. The ICCI is the foremost chamber that has recognised the importance of strengthening the connection between education and industry.
ICCI and HEC agreed to conduct joint research to understand student trends and to use the information to inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset among graduates, thus nurturing a conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. They will also work jointly to set up an Incubation and Skills Development Centre to produce a knowledgeable and skilled workforce for industry including modern management skills.
