NUC seeks collaboration with UK quality assurance body

The National Universities Commission, or NUC, is collaborating with the United Kingdom's Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education to further standardise Nigerian tertiary institutions in line with emerging trends, reports This Day.

Chair of the NUC Board, Dr Ahmadu Ali, disclosed this recently in London in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria after a presentation by Eagle Scientific, a UK-based education equipment company.

Ali, who with other NUC officials visited some UK higher education agencies including the Association of Commonwealth Universities, said the move was to seek synergy especially in quality assurance. "The NUC Board decided to examine all facets of higher education in relation to quality and standardisation in the various universities to ensure that there is uniformity."
