"We demand that the book be reintroduced in the syllabus for second year BA (English) at the earliest," the association said in a letter to Vice-chancellor Rajan Welukar. "A decision should be taken about its continuation when the new academic bodies meet."
The book was dropped after Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's grandson Aditya and a few members of the Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena met the vice-chancellor, asking him to drop the book on the basis that it contains derogatory remarks against the conservative Sena and dabbawalas.
