MALAYSIA: Indian provider to set up global university

India's Manipal Education will invest about RM650 million (US$209 million) over the next five years to establish the Manipal International University (MIU) in Kuala Lumpur, reports Malaysia's official news agency Bernama.

The multi-disciplinary university will cater to the needs of Malaysians as well as international students, specifically from Asean countries, North Asia, India, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Of the six options available to MIU, it has earmarked three sites, one of which is in Sepang and another near the Selangor Technology Park, its managing director and chief executive officer, Anand Sudarshan, said.
