MALAYSIA: Perks for selected business faculties
Business faculties that are selected into the Malaysian government's special programme for top business schools will enjoy some flexibility not offered to other institutions, writes Lee Yen Mun for The Star. The faculties are set to have their curriculum and resources enhanced under the Higher Education Ministry. One of the perks is to allow lecturers to be involved in business on the basis that if lecturers have the opportunity to serve on the board of a corporate organisation, they can then deliver first-hand accounts of their own business practices to students.
"The whole idea of the project is to strengthen the curriculum in these schools," Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said at the opening of an entrepreneurship forum last week.
