An international standards assessment programme is to be trialled in Thailand's leading higher education institutions soon in an effort to improve their quality, reports The Nation.

The Higher Education Commission hopes he US-based Baldrige National Quality Programme will lead to higher standards in higher education and will support government's role of making Thailand a regional education hub.
